Dhru Gopaluni, Speaker of the House, is a graduate of Stanford University where she studied Management Science & Engineering. She currently works in D.C. as a data scientist. Girls State was an incredible experience for her, and she is so honored to be able to give back to the organization and program that gave her so much. Dhruti hopes she can uphold the values and share the lessons she learned during her time as a citizen and a staff member.

Neethi Nayak, President of the Senate, was a citizen in 2012. She graduated from Rice University in 2017 with a double major in Policy Studies and Sociology. She works as a consultant in the energy industry. She is an active member of the American Association of University Women and co founded a campus chapter.

Kerry Mackenzie, Legislative Assistant, Senate, attends the University of Texas as a Forty Acres Scholar where she studies Plan II and International Relations. Kerry was a citizen in 2017, and her favorite Girls State memory was presenting her gerrymandering bill at the State Capitol and-of course-making amazing friends!

Devin Powell, Legislative Assistant, House, a 2016 citizen, Devin was a House Floor Leader. She is from Houston, Texas and attends The University of Texas Austin. She majors in Mathematics with a focus on statistical analysis. Her favorite Girls State memory is debating legislation at the State Capitol.

Sophia Paolo, Legislative Assistant, Senate, is from Dallas. She attends Southern Methodist University and studies mechanical engineering and public policy. Her favorite memory from Girls State is writing legislation and listening to debate.

Erin Swearingen, Legislative Assistant, House, was a Girls State citizen in 2017, and loved writing and debating bills during her session. She is a Government major at the University of Texas, where she competes in speech and forensics. She is very happy to be a part of the Girls State family.
